Adding/Editing Appointment types and
locations
Along with resources, you can add and edit appointment types and locations, besides those that are included when you initially install the software.
Appointment types and locations must be selected whenever you create a new appointment. Although there are a handful of appointment types that are "hard coded" into the software, you can always create your own.
By default, QuickPractice has four appointment types that can be used.

To add new appointment types to be used, follow the directions below.
1. Click Lists>Other>Appointment Calendar>Appointment Types
2. Click the Add button.
3. Type in the name of the new appointment type (follow-up, adjustment, acupuncture etc).
4. You must specify an abbreviation of the new appointment type.
5. Enter a default interval of minutes to be taken on the calendar grid whenever this appointment type is used.
6. It is useful to indicate a color for the appointment type you are adding, as that blocks on the calendar will be shaded this color whenever the appointment type is used. Check the Transparent box if you wish to use no color at all.
7. Type in any special instructions to patients who are scheduled for this appointment type (rare).
8. To finish, click OK.
The default appointment location is created whenever you create your practice and the software will use the first word of whatever you have chosen for your Billing/Practice name. A location must be selected when ever you create a new appointment. Adding multiple locations is useful for practices that have more than one office. Although all appointments appear on the same grid, regardless of their location, the appointment location will print to a day or specific patient's preview report.
To add a new appointment location, follow the steps below.
1. Click Lists>Other>Appointment Calendar>Locations
2. Click the Add button.
3. Input a name for the new location (example: Brooklyn Office, Long Island Office).
4. Click OK.
